Rastafarian Doctrine Deception!

Some of our people scattered in the carribean island, especially those in Jamaica erroneously believe they are Rasta’s.


Col 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.


The Rastafari movement or Rasta is a new religious movement that arose in a Christian culture in Jamaica in the 1930s. Many of its adherents worship Haile Selassie I, former Emperor of Ethiopia (1930–1974), as God incarnate, the Second Advent, or the reincarnation of Jesus, while other adherents believe that Selassie is simply their earthly king chosen by God.

Members of the Rastafari movement are known as Rasta’s, or Rastafari. The name Rastafari is taken from Ras Tafari, the pre-regnal title of Haile Selassie I, composed of Amharic Ras (literally “Head,” an Ethiopian title equivalent to Duke), and Haile Selassie’s pre-regnal given name, Tafari. RasTafari are generally distinguished for asserting the doctrine that Haile Selassie I, the former and last Emperor of Ethiopia, is another incarnation of the Christian God, called Jah. Most see Haile Selassie I as Jah or Jah Rastafari, who is the second coming of Jesus Christ onto the Earth.



According to tradition, Haile Selassie was the 225th in an unbroken line of Ethiopian monarchs of the Solomonic Dynasty. This dynasty is said to have been founded in the 10th century BC by Menelik I, the son of the Biblical King Solomon and Makeda, the Queen of Sheba, who had visited Solomon in Israel.

1Ki 10:13  And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. 

All her desire is whatsoever she “asked”. Nothing else no sex,..but smoking weed will cause you to hallucinate and add things the Bible does not say.

On the basis of the Ethiopian national book, the Kebra Negast, Rastas interpret this verse as meaning she conceived his child, and from this, conclude that African people are among the true children of Israel, or Jews.



A large part of their religion hinges on the concept of smoking weed. A mind altering herb. Cannabis has psychoactive and physiological effects when consumed.



Rastas also see the lost half of the Bible, and the whole of their lost culture, to be found in the Ark of the Covenant, a repository of African wisdom, which is allegedly located in Ethiopia.

2Ma 2:4  It was also contained in the same writing, that the Prophet being warned of God, commanded the Tabernacle, and the Arke to goe with him, as he went forth into the mountaine, where Moises climed vp, and sawe the heritage of God. 

2Ma 2:5  And when Ieremie came thither, he found an hollow caue wherin he laid the Tabernacle, and the Arke, and the altar of incense, & so stopped the doore. 

2Ma 2:6  And some of those that followed him, came to marke the way, but they could not find it. 

2Ma 2:7  Which when Ieremie perceiued, hee blamed them, saying, As for that place, it shall be vnknowen vntill the time that God gather his people againe together, and receiue them vnto mercy. 

Proving the Ethiopians do not have the Ark of the covenant neither do they know the location. They are Liars.

Many early Rastas for a time believed in black supremacy because of the teachings of Marcus Garvey. Widespread advocacy of this belief was short-lived, at least partly because of Haile Selassie’s explicit condemnation of racism in an October 1963 speech before the United Nations.

 

He pleaded/begged Queen Elizabeth and other European monarchs for help against Benito Mussolini, the Prime Minister of Italy. His speech against racism was meant to work on the emotions of the League of Nations. Most Rastas now espouse the doctrine that racial animosities and unity of the black race must be set aside/forgotten, with world peace and harmony being common themes for everyone.


Christ the true Messiah of our people said the following about his return-

Mat 24:30  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 

Mat 24:31  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 

Isa 47:3  Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man. 

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 

Rev 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 

Rev 19:15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 

Rev 19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 

Haile Selaisse does NOT fit any of the biblical prophesies about Christ but these….

Mat 24:23  Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 


Please take note that Rastas teach Haile Selassie is the conquering Lion of Judah and Ethiopia is Zion, New Jerusalem.



Examine the historical data please

1930 – Zawditu dies and is succeeded by Ras Tafari Makonnen, who becomes Emperor Haile Selassie I.

1935 – Italy invades Ethiopia.

1936 – Italians capture Addis Ababa, Haile Selassie flees, king of Italy made emperor of Ethiopia; Ethiopia combined with Eritrea and Italian Somaliland to become Italian East Africa.

1941 – British and Commonwealth troops, greatly aided by the Ethiopian resistance – the arbegnoch – defeat the Italians, and restore Haile Selassie to his throne.

1952 – United Nations federates Eritrea with Ethiopia.

1962 – Haile Selassie annexes Eritrea, which becomes an Ethiopian province.

1963 – First conference of the Organisation of African Unity held in Addis Ababa.

1973-74 – An estimated 200,000 people die in Wallo province as a result of famine.

1974 – Haile Selassie overthrown in military coup. General Teferi Benti becomes head of state.

1975 – Haile Selassie dies while in custody.
